Vegetable Balls in Tomato Sauce Recipe
Flavorful and succulent Vegetable Balls in the tangy tongue- tickling Tomato Sauce is a delicious meal. This is a mouth watering recipe which can be served as a main course dish or even as a starter. Let’s follow this recipe.
Ingredients
For The Vegetable Balls
- 1 cupboiled and finely chopped mixed vegetables (french beans and carrot)
- 1 cupboiled and mashed potatoes
- 2 tbspplain flour (maida)
- 2 tbspcornflour
- 1 tbspfinely chopped green chilies
- 1/2 tspgaram masala
- 2 tsplemon juice
- 2 tbspfinely chopped coriander (dhania)

- oilfor deep-frying
For The Tomato Sauce
- 1-1/2 cupsfresh tomato pulp
- 1/4 cuptomato ketchup
- 1 tspchili powder
- 1 tbspsugar
- saltto taste
For The Garnish
- 2 tbspgrated processed cheese
Directions
For the vegetable balls
- In a bowl add all mixed vegetables, mashed potatoes, maida, cornflour, chopped green chilies, lemon juice, chopped coriander and salt and mix it well.
- Divide the mixture into equal portions and roll each portion into round balls.
- Heat the oil in a deep non-stick kadhai and deep-fry a few vegetable balls at a time, on a medium flame or fry till they turn golden brown in color from all the sides.
- Drain the vegetable balls on an absorbent paper and keep it aside.
For the tomato sauce
- In a deep non-stick pan pour tomato pulp, tomato ketchup, chili powder, sugar, and salt and mix it well and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes and stir occasionally and keep it aside.
How to proceed
- Just before serving, reheat the tomato sauce, add the prepared vegetable balls, mix it gently and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes and stir occasionally.
- Garnish with grated cheese and serve it hot.
