Classic Tomato Onion Rava Uttapam Recipe
Tomato Onion Rava Uttapam is a classic South Indian breakfast recipe. It is a quick, simple, easy and yet healthy breakfast. This tomato onion uttapam is one of the best ways to enjoy the most important meal of the day.
Ingredients
- 1 cupsemolina (rava)
- 4 tspcurd (dahi)
- 1 tbspoil
- saltto taste
- 3 tbspfinely chopped tomatoes
- 3 tbspfinely chopped onions
- 2 tspfinely chopped green chilies
- 3 tbspfinely chopped coriander (dhania)
- oilfor cooking
Directions
- In a bowl add semolina, curd, salt, and 1 cup of water, and mix it well and cover with a lid and keep it aside to ferment for 1 hour.
- Heat a non-stick tawa (griddle), sprinkle a little water on it (it should sizzle immediately) and wipe off using a piece of cloth.
- Pour ¼ cup of the batter on the tawa (griddle), spread in a circular motion to make a 125 mm. (5") diameter thick circle.
- Pour a little oil on the top and edges and cook on a medium flame for a minute.
- Sprinkle ½ tbsp of onions, ½ tbsp. of tomatoes, ½ tbsp of coriander and ¼ tsp of green chilies evenly over it.
- Flip it and cook on the other side till it turns light brown in color.
- Serve it hot with coconut chutney.
