Crispy Chili Fish Recipe
Chili Fish is a popular dish found in Indian restaurants. This fish dish tastes sweet, sour and slightly hot. This dish tastes great as an appetizer or as a side dish. Let’s follow this Crispy Chili Fish recipe.
Ingredients
- 4Basa Fish Fillets
- 8-10Dried Red Chilies soaked
- saltto taste
- White pepperpowder to taste
- 2 teaspoonsPaprika powder
- 2 tablespoonsLemon juice
- 1/2 cupRefined flour (maida)
- 1/4 cupCornflour
- a pinchBaking soda
- 1/2 tablespoonOil for deep-frying
- 1 tablespoonGarlic chopped
- 1 tablespoonGinger chopped
- 1 tablespoonSoya sauce
- 1 tablespoonSpring onion greens chopped
- Sesame seeds(til) for garnishing
Directions
- Cut the fish fillets into medium cubes and put into a bowl and add salt, pepper powder, paprika powder and one tablespoon lemon juice and rub well on the fish cubes and set it aside to marinate for ten to fifteen minutes.
- In a bowl add refined flour, cornflour, salt, pepper powder, and baking soda and mix well.
- Add sufficient water gradually and mix it well to make a thick and smooth batter.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadhai and dip the marinated fish cubes in the batter and slide into hot oil and deep-fry till they turn golden in color and drain on absorbent paper.
- Grind red chilies with a little water to a smooth paste.
- Heat half tablespoon oil in a non-stick wok, add garlic and ginger and saute until fragrant.
- Add soya sauce and red chili paste and mix it well and add a little water and mix it well.
- Add salt and pepper powder and mix it well and add the fried fish and toss to mix.
- Add lemon juice and mix it lightly and add half the spring onion greens and toss it well.
- Garnish with sesame seeds and spring onion greens and serve it hot.
