Power Packed Cereal Recipe
Anything homemade is definitely more satisfying and nutritious. Kids love cereals because of they are crunchy, sweet and contain loads of dry fruits and nuts. The power packed cereals will give ample energy and nutrients for an active day, as well as antioxidants to fight the pollution and infections that surround us.
Ingredients
- 200 gmquick cooking rolled oats
- 25 gmsunflower seeds (optional)
- 12 gmsesame seeds
- 50 gmwheat germ
- 50 gmbrown sugar
- 50 gmchopped mixed nuts
- 50 mloil
- 1/4 tspvanilla essence
- 1/4 tspsalt
- 20 gmraisins (kismis)
Directions
- Mix the oats, sunflower seeds, sesame seeds, wheat germ, brown sugar and chopped nuts in a bowl.
- Mix the oil, 1/2 teacup of water, vanilla essence and salt and whisk together and add to the dry mixture.
- Spread the mixture on a baking tray and bake at 190 degrees C (375 degree F) for 20 to 30 minutes and turn occasionally until crisp and golden and keep aside to cool.
- Add raisins and store in an air-tight container.
- Serve it with milk or fruits.
