Stuffed Bajra Roti Recipe
Bajra is the staple diet in many parts of North Western India. This recipe is stuffed with a mixture of paneer, fenugreek, and tomatoes. Bajra is a good source of calcium, folic acid, and iron. It is a much easier way of making them.Let’s follow is a healthy and easy recipe.
Ingredients
For The Rotis
- 2 cupsBajra (pearl millet) flour
- Bajra(black millet) flour for rolling
- Saltto taste
To Be Mixed Into A Stuffing
- 3/4 cupcrumbled low-fat paneer (cottage cheese)
- 4 tbspchopped fenugreek (methi) leaves
- 2slit green chilies, finely chopped
- 1/2 cupfinely chopped tomatoes
- Saltto taste
For Serving
- 2 tsplow-fat butter (optional)
Directions
For the rotis
- Add Bajra flour and salt together in a bowl and knead into a soft dough using enough water.
- Knead well till smooth and divide into 8 equal portions and keep it aside.
For the Stuffing
- In a bowl add paneer, chopped fenugreek, green chilies, chopped tomatoes, and salt.
- Mix this stuffing mixture well and keep it aside.
How to proceed
- Divide the stuffing into 8 equal portions andkeep it aside.
- Roll out each portion of the dough into 150 mm. (6”) diameter thin circle and Keep it aside.
- Place a roti on a clean, dry surface, put a portion of the stuffing and spread it evenly.
- Place another roti on top and press well so that they stick well.
- Cook a non-stick tava (griddle) till brown spots appear on both the sides.
- Apply1/2 tsp of butter on each roti and serve it hot.
Tips
- Those who are not suffering from celiac disease, they can use wheat flour for rolling
