Makhane Ki Kheer Recipe
Makhane( lotus seeds) Ki Kheer is an easy, delicious kheer recipe. It is wonderfully light and very easy to prepare. This Indian pudding is simple, healthy, and delicious. Let’s learn how to make this kheer.
Ingredients
- 1 cuplotus seeds (makhanas)
- 1 tspghee
- 4-1/2 cupslow-fat milk, 99.7% fat-free
- 1 tbspsugar substitute
- a fewsaffron (kesar) strands
- 1/4 tspnutmeg (jaiphal) powder
For The Garnish
- 10-12pistachio slivers
Directions
- Heat ghee in a deep non-stick pan, add the lotus seeds and saute on a slow flame for 2 to 3 minutes or till they turn crisp.
- Remove from the flame and blend the lotus seeds in a mixer to a coarse mixture and keep it aside.
- Boil the milk in a deep non-stick pan, add sugar substitute and coarsely crushed lotus seeds, mix it well and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes and stir occasionally.
- Add saffron and nutmeg powder, mix it well and cook on a medium flame for3 to 4 minutes and stir occasionally.
- Garnish with pistachios slivers and serve it.
