Shahi Paneer Recipe
Shahi Paneer Recipe is a delicious North Indian curry made with paneer and tomato based spicy gravy loaded with spices. This dish has a rich texture and flavor. Let’s follow this recipe.
Ingredients
- 250 gmPaneer (cottage cheese)
- 3Chopped Tomatoes
- 1Chopped Onions
- 2 tbspCashew Nut (kaju) paste
- 1 1/2Ginger-Garlic (adrak-lehsun) paste
- 1 tspChili Paste
- 2 tbspOil
- 1 tspTomato Puree
- 1/2 tspGaram Masala
- Saltto Taste
- 1/2 tspChili Powder
- A pinchof Cochineal(red food color)
- 1/2 tspTurmeric powder (haldi)
- 1 tspCoriander (dhania) powder
- Oil fordeep frying
For The Garnish
- 2 tbspChopped Coriander (dhania)
Directions
- Heat 2 tbsp of oil in a pan, add the onions and saute till they turn golden brown in color.
- Add the ginger, garlic and chili paste, mix well and saute till it is brown in color.
- Add the tomatoes and saute for 6 to 8 minutes.
- Cool and blend in a mixer to a puree.
- Transfer the blended mixture in a kadhai, add 1/2 cup water and boil on a low flame.
- Meanwhile, heat the oil in a kadhai and deep fry the paneer without browning them and keep it aside.
- Add coriander powder, turmeric powder, chili paste and salt to the puree and mix well.
- Add the cashew nut paste and pinch of food color, mix well and cook on a slow flame, for 5 minutes or till the gravy is thick.
- Just before serving, heat the gravy and add the paneer pieces into it.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve hot.
